Reiki

Traditional Japanese Reiki is a form of hands on energy work. “Reiki” is Japanese for Universal Life Energy. The practitioner applies her hands over specific receiving points on the body. Each point is correlated with an acupuncture point, an energy meridian, and one or more organs. “Energy” is offered to the recipient, and their body chooses if it wishes to take it in, and how it will utilize it. The practitioner is in no way part of the energy transfer.

Based in Asian medicine, acupressure works with the meridians of the body. The meridians are energy lines that are above and through your body. Meridians will join and combine to make organ pathways, and will supply that specific organ with “life energy”. A pathway may be blocked and have decreased energy or may be excited and create a “nervous” energy. Light touch and pressure is utilized on specific points along the meridians in order to balance the energy and encourage optimal flow.
